Well, in conclusion I believe I almost got ripped off. I went with my dad to see the car. First the seller. The man appeared to be hispanic, possibly mexican, yet he claimed to be from kuwait and had a thick accent, the accent possibly fake. But ok. It appears the man has an underground dealer for a living. I go in there he has 3 cars, a pontiac fiero a porsche 928, and off course the 300zx tt. During the conversation he mentions that a. he likes to buy cars drive them, then sell em, b he is kuwaiti and has lots of cars, c, he recently sold another porsche and a camaro, the camaro guy paid off fine, but taking the porsche guy to court. The car itself. The 300zx from the outside looks to be in good condition from the outside, no noticeable dings. A little sun dried spots, noting noticeable, all lights in working order. From inside the car appears to be clean. Very well kept, under the passengers foot stool appears the so called "superchip". The engine, here is where the questions arise. The engine is not the cleanest looking engine, then he states that people that have clean looking engines, have something to hide. He tells me that the car is a high mileage car but that it had new components installed, at 126k miles. New things in there, the master cylinder was new as well as other brake components. The radiator was new and appeard after market. Things wrong that he mentioned with the car. The right turbo has a"leak on its casing, but it doesnt affect performance, just cuases black smoke from right exhaust when iddle but it goes away when you press the gas." The clutch is fucked up, but he shows me an unopened box of a clutch kit. And promises me that it will be installed tommorrow. He also mentions that he has receipts for everything, excpet the head gasket, which it started to show problems he tells me some mexican guy fixed it and dindnt get a receipt for taxation reason. Bullshit that he spouted about the car. He claims that this 300zx is a special edition z, that came with the superchip, and was a "stage 3" that spouted 400 hp from the factory. He goes on to say that this car would be faster then a 350z. (believable). A new cobra. (bullshit), and even a Zo6. (bullshit.)
He also mentions tha tthe car has 4 wheel steering. He is asking 12500, but will lower the price if I pay cash for it. Im going to investigate matters further, I have the vin number which is. JN1CZ24A0LX002802. Although he seemed to willing to give me the vin, and even enthusiastically told me about car fax. Besides that I plan to go to the nissan dealership, and ask about the so called special package Z. When they laugh and say no, Ill ask that they do so in writting signed.
Then Im going to call the guy, tellhim where he is incorrect, and offer him 6000 for it. 6500 lying penalty fee. Off course he will get angry and say no. But he will know that he lied to the wrong guy.
